The Day of Impact is a separate event from the conference days. This day showcases unique experiences being offered in the local tourism industry and provides additional networking opportunities for attendees.
These bespoke tours will feature presenters interacting with delegates, encouraging open communication on Atlantic Canada's stance on addressing the challenges of environmental, socio-cultural, and economic sustainability while striving for regenerative tourism growth. Others focus on Ocean technology that produces net benefits for visitors and Atlantic Canadians alike. All of these activities help provide connections with delegates, presenters, and the local community while enhancing the host showcase.
Enjoy watching the Sunrise over North America from Cabot Tower.
Witnessing a Signal Hill sunrise is an unforgettable Canadian experience and should be added to your bucket list. You will be among the first people to watch the sunrise in North America, a truly transformative experience. We'll follow up this sunrise with coffee and conversation with Parks Canada and others with a breakfast designed for this special NL locale and ensures that you are starting this Sunday in the right way.
Prepare for an early morning start to ensure we see the sunrise at 0730 and those that wish to walk to Cabot Tower can pester Stan to see if he'll take a crowd up the path!!
Land & Sea Skills & Leo’s Fish Stew:
3 groups of 10 folks each will rotate through these 3 experiences:
Wharf Walkabout & Land Skills & Leo’s Fish Stew 0930-1500
Guests join community leaders on a Walkabout to hear stories and stop along the way at community landmarks like the Mini Aquarium (entry fee included) and Herbie’s Craft Shoppe, and more! Guests discover that not all the work of fishing happens on the water.
· Guests then join in the Fishy Art & Craft and Heritage Skills, participatory demonstrations of filleting, and tongue cutting!
· Sharing a meal of fish together and telling stories of our fun, is the best part of the day. Enjoy a meal of Leo’s traditional freshly caught cod fish stew, freshly baked bread, and local berry dessert.
A 2.5-hour hiking tour to explore the paths around Petty Harbour. These paths brought neighbours together, allowed hunters to reach their traps, and provided access to berries. At the end of this leisurely jaunt is a magic tree, with branches that allow the walkers to enjoy their lunch, hot beverages, and nibble local berry desserts.
The two-hour ocean safari is the perfect trip for those who like to look and to touch. Spend your afternoon in the company of Mother Nature’s greatest ambassadors!
This trip is designed for people who like to stay in the boat and take in all the action.
Thanks to the design of our rigid-hulled inflatable boat, we can provide you with a fast-paced interpretative tour that is sure to get your adrenaline flowing while teaching you a thing or two about the area.
While maintaining a high degree of safety, our Zodiacs allow us to land on secluded beaches, drift close to whales, and circle icebergs with ease. Due to their high degree of maneuverability, we can also get you close to sea cliffs and caves to let you see these natural creations even better.
Join Quidi Vidi Brewery co-owner Justin Fong on an entreating conversation on how he decided to use Icebergs to power the brewery's most icon beer, as well as how QVB partners with other iconic events in Atlantic Canada to promote culture and economic sustainability.
