Day of Impact

These bespoke tours will have presenters interacting with delegates, encouraging communication on Atlantic Canada’s stand on tackling the challenges of environmental, socio-cultural and economic sustainability while striving for regenerative tourism growth; others focus on Ocean technology that produces net benefits for visitors and Atlantic Canadians alike. All of these activities help provide connections with delegates, presenters and the local community while enhancing the host showcase.

Fishing for Success

Land & Sea Skills & Leo’s Fish Stew:

3 groups of 10 folks each will rotate through these 3 experiences:

· Small Boat Excursion on the traditional fishing grounds of Motion Bay.

· Back on shore, they will participate in Fishy Art & Craft and create with a community leader a keepsake craft – it might be a painting of a caplin or they might try their hand at making fish leather – or both!

· The next rotation is Heritage Skills and there are so many things to try – rinding sticks or caulking a dory or weaving a withe or sailor’s knot! Caulking a dory is hard work, so good thing there’s a tasting of local seasonal seafood! Leo might have snow crab or lobster or maybe seal! Always, freshly baked berry muffins to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee.

· We all come together for a meal of Leo’s traditional cod fish stew, freshly baked bread, and local berry dessert. And stories!
